The Real ANWR

Like most Americans, as the 4th of July weekend comes to an end, it is once again time to get ready for a new week of work. Having gotten all the clothes and paperwork together, I figured it was a good time to fill my gas tank. So, off I went to my neighborhood gas station, knowing darn well that gas in the People’s Republic of Louisville was currently $4.15 a gallon and else where in Kentucky, a little lower, but that’s for another time. I know, I’m not the only American who feels that they are getting the shaft at the gas pumps but when earning a living depends on gasoline, what can one do except pay for it and b**** about it.
Some want to blame “Big” Oil, some want to blame the Auto Industry and of course the left in Congress want to blame the President. My personal feelings are that there is enough blame to go around to cover for everyone. We are Americans, we are willing to develop “alternative” sources of energy, but until we find an alternative way of keeping our airplanes in the air, trucks on the road and trains moving; we need to drill here in our country, NOW! I know former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has a petition to “Drill here, Drill Now and Pay Less” at : http://www.americansolutions.com/actioncenter/petitions/?Guid=54ec6e43-75a8-445b-aa7b-346a1e096659
which I fully agree with, BUT , why doesn’t our candidate, John McCain, seem so unenthusiastic and insist on keeping ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge) off limits is beyond me. The Liberals tell us that the Oil companies have oil leases, but are not drilling on them. DUH! Maybe there isn’t oil there, but we know there is oil in ANWR. The Liberals and Senator McCain want to keep the “beauty” of the area and not disturb the wildlife. Well, let’s look at this pristine piece of land

The Yellow is the drill site.

Now, let us put some perspective on the area in Alaska where we should drill.

This is area is in the “ANWR Coastal Plain”

The Liberals and Senator McCain have told us just how lovely and pristine this area is and how we should maintain this beauty. They even show us pictures.

BUT, is this really what ANWR looks like? Well, not to say the Liberals are above feeding the American people a little bit of bull, in fact they feeding us alot of bull and many people are buying it. As Hilter said, "If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed." I guess a few in Congress and the "green" movement read the playbook.
Here is what the proposed exploration site in ANWR looks like in the winter.

   And in the summer:

Really lovely isn’t it, nice place to build a summer home.

They tell us that the wildlife will be disturbed by the drilling, well I guess the caribou in the photo below (drill site at PrudhoeBay) are doing what Liberals do best…protesting. They really look disturbed, don't they?

And this is the same site in the winter:

Of course, maybe some residents will be a little inconvenient, after all they may have find a new route to their hunting areas, but I'm sure they will adapt. After all, where there is a will, there is a way, even in nature.

There is an estimated amount of oil in this area to help maintain us for many years, and it can only be used within the U.S. since it is Federal land. This oil along with other sources could keep the money in the U.S. and will lower gas prices untill we develope other means of energy.
If the American people don’t wake up and realize that we are being held hostage by the Middle East, Liberal politicians, and environmentalists to bring down this wonderful country of ours, then the only thing I can say is, God help us, for our way of life is heading off a cliff and NOBODY has their foot on the brake!

Until next time,

Semper Fi
