It’s a shame to believe that the American people just don’t get it. Are those with eyes so blind that they are not able to see what is really going on with the "Cordoba Initiative?" Do people not realize that this is just another attack on the American way of life and an additional way for the enemies of America to gain additional allies and more power in the war to destroy America?
I am not defending the radical Muslims and let’s remember the term “radical.” I am strongly against the building of this insult to America, and particularly on behalf of the families and friends who lost loved ones in the attack on America on 9-11-2001. I will not forget, nor forgive. I also understand “the Islamist agenda in North America” and will fight against it with every ounce of energy in my old Marine body. However, I feel there is something going on that is more then meets the eye.
We all know the players in this travesty. On one side we have the “star” of the travesty, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and various radical Muslim organizations: The American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA) which was founded by Rauf, The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Hamas and others including, of course, the prime suspect in the destruction of America, the ACLU. Joining this cast of characters are the usual liberal / progressive politicians. On the other side is 70% plus of the American people.
Now, I can spend numerous words and a large amount of time in the discussion of the organizations that back this insult and their background funding. I can spend time on the idea of whether it’s right or wrong, but that has been covered in an earlier post. My stand is simple. The First Amendment of our Constitution allows for it to be built. HOWEVER, in respect for America and those that lost loved ones in the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93, it should not and can not be built. However, this does lead to something else, a “slippery slope”, which may be part of the over all plan.
I have been listening to our usual “talking heads” and heard their discussions of the “Ground Zero” Mosque, but something in these discussions has been missing, one important question. Is it where the funding is coming from? Maybe, I certainty feel we should know the answer to that question. However, I feel the most important question that should be asked is, why did this particular story about this particular project make the news cycle three months before the November elections? After all, this project is not new. This project has been ASMA's top ongoing priority, which was established in Colorado in 2004 and was registered as a nonprofit in New York five years later. The Cordoba Initiative's mission is “to achieve a tipping point in Muslim-West relations, and bring back the atmosphere of interfaith tolerance and respect that we have longed for since Muslims, Christians and Jews lived together in harmony and prosperity eight hundred years ago.” The Initiative's preferred means of attaining this goal is to build a 13-story, $100 million mosque and Islamic Center (to be called "Cordoba House") in downtown Manhattan. For that purpose, in July 2009 ASMA spent $4.58 million in cash to purchase, from the heirs to New York’s Pomerantz family, a plot of real estate situated approximately 600 feet from Ground Zero. [1]
Do the American people find it very strange that various radical Muslim groups, the ACLU and various left /progressive politicians have “joined” forces to defend this insult? Could these groups have joined together to further drive a wedge between Americans? Please think about this, in a recent discussion posted in a forum on 912 Communique, http://912communique.ning.com/ ,about an article from the Ottawa Citizen, http://912communique.ning.com/forum/topics/mischief-in-manhattan , lead to some very good debates, but there was one under lying theme, the Muslims want to take over and change America. YES, the RADICAL MUSLIMS do want to destroy America, but does anyone think about the American Muslims. Are we going to group them in with the radicals? As anyone who has followed the discussions, know that I feel we shouldn’t and thus the split in America continues and the Progressives / liberals benefit, as does the Radical Muslims.
The progressives / liberals will benefit from this because they can say are defending the “right” for the Muslims to build this insult. They are not only citing the Constitution, which they don’t really believe in, but using the “thought” that it will build bridges between the religions. Now, how does this benefit them? VOTES. They can go out and use this to garner votes in the American Muslim communities, just as they have done in the past with the African – American community, the Hispanic community and even the senior citizen community. They have used the African - Americans and Hispanics to obtain their votes by labeling those who oppose the various social programs racists, not caring and, well, we have heard all the lies. With the senior citizens, it has always been that the right wants to take away their Social Security and Medicare. The left uses the fear of racism to a high degree. The left knows it is in trouble in November, so by defending the mosque at Ground Zero they can campaign in the American Muslim communities and use the “racism” of those who oppose the mosque as a campaign talking point, basically saying, “See, the other party is so racist and bigoted against Muslims, that they don’t want a mosque built. Look at us, we defended your right to build it. Vote for us and we will continue to defend your religious rights.” Tell a lie long enough it becomes the truth in their minds, and the progressives are masters at doing that, and some Americans are walking into the trap. They can not separate the Muslims who have come here to America to escape the terror of Sharia law in Islamic nations from the radical Muslims, both here and aboard that want to destroy America. Doubt this, look at some of the replies in the discussion I have previously cited. I’m not saying that the comments were racist in nature; I am saying that we have to learn to “judge a person by their content of their character not by the color of their skin or their religion”. I know the scars of 9-11 are deep and this controversy just opened old wounds. Has anyone thought that’s what the left wants to do and in turn use it against all good Americans?
The radical Muslims benefit from this controversy because they can point to this and say, “Look, Americans hate Muslims. They are liars, they say America welcomes everyone, but see they only welcome those that believe the way they do.” Most Americans know this isn’t true, but again tell a lie long enough, it becomes the perceived as truth. By using this tactic, they can turn some Muslim citizens against America, and turn Muslims throughout the world against America. After all, there are many Muslims who have come or want to come to America (legally) to escape the terror of the regimes that practice Sharia law. So why would they want to bring those same barbaric laws here to the U.S.?
It is sad to say, that this controversy is a win win situation for the Progressives and the radical Muslims. The Progressives can garner more votes and the radical Muslims can shout from the mountaintops that America is racist against Muslims. It is a lose-lose situation for Americans. We don’t want to see the mosque built, and by fighting it, we look like racists or bigots. We also face the slippery slope of the possibility that some day in the future, another religious group may want to build a place of worship somewhere near something that is scared to a group of Americans who believe differently. Does it continue, where does it stop, how do we stop it?
Remember, this is America, the shining beacon on the hill, and this controversy can really cause that bright light to dim even more, and unfortunately the beacon is dimming day by day, thanks to the progressives. I am saying that we judge people as individuals and not as groups, healthy skepticism is not our problem (I borrowed this from email). Remember as well, the attack on 9-11 was done by foreign radical terrorists, not by Muslim citizens of America. There have been a few (1 is too many) attacks by Muslim citizens and they were against individuals, not that it is an acceptable excuse.
There is one redeeming thing that may come out of this whole situation. IF we loose this war and the progressives win, their appeasing of the Radical Muslims will come back to bite them. The two ideologies can not coexist and the Radical Muslims will turn like a snake. The same will hold true with the Progressives, they will turn on the Radical Muslims as well as anyone else who helped them. Absolute power does not like to be shared and this is what this is all about, Absolute Power.
THIS WHOLE CONTROVERSY IS ABOUT VOTES, POWER AND CONTROL, NOTHING ELSE. WE CAN ALLOW NEITHER THE PROGRESSIVES NOR THE RADICAL MUSLIMS TO WIN!
