Lately it seems that the American people have been under a constant blitz, very much like England during W.W. 2, when Germany was attempting to pound the English people into submission. Every day it seems that the government is attempting to pound us into submission, with a constant bombardment of items that can only be described as a way to destroy America and its way of life. Any well informed American has seen this, and I will not attempt to name all the various government bombs that have been dropped on the American people. A majority of the people are saying, “How will it end? When will it end?” I cannot nor will I attempt to answer those questions. I will say this, “It is not new and it will not end well.” The current circumstances and trends have happened before, “All that is new, is old.”
I am not going to discuss the economy, that subject has been covered ad nauseum and yes it is important to worry about, but there are other things that we should also consider. I would like the American people to look back over the past 20 to 40 years and ponder whether you have seen any of the following items entering into American life.
Has there been a decline in the morals of our country. Does it seem to you that those considering themselves ‘elite’ appear to live by a different moral compass, compared to the normal everyday American? Has it seemed that there has been a rise in immoral and promiscuous sexual behavior, including adultery and wild sex parties? Look at popular items like the “Girls Gone Wild” series and what goes on during spring breaks. Have we seen an increase in sexual assaults on young boys and girls? How many “news” stories have we seen about teachers having affairs with their students? How women, girls have had a number of children by any number of different men? Has there been an increase in ribald songs, lewd acts and sexual promiscuity among not only the young but the adults? Has lewd and sexually explicit acts invaded just about all aspects of popular entertainment. Is the heavy use of alcohol and drugs becoming more acceptable?
Many “talking heads” have talked about the corruption in American politics, but no one seems to want to do anything about it. Have the unions, special interests groups and certain elites determined and decided on whether a certain person should be elected to Congress or even become President? How many times have the “elites” with aid from the press and big money savaged a candidate for public office, just because the person was not from the “in crowd”? I will not even attempt to bring up the scandals on both sides that have come to light involving politicians and those that were entrusted with the public trust. Have you ever felt that public office, both state and federal, were up for auction to the highest bidder?
In light of the of the recent Wikileaks dump of documents, do you feel that our enemies have gained access to our military tactics and weapons?
Although I did say that I wasn’t going into the economy, all Americans have seen unemployment of the “working class” increase from near record lows under Bush to 9.6% today. There are many reasons given for this, from the companies not having the money to hire and improve their company to the fact that a lot of on industry has moved out of the country. However, it seems that no one wants to bring up the cheap labor supplied by illegal immigrants. Have you seen an increase in the illegals and a decrease in enforcement? Have you seen the increase in the unemployed becoming more dependent on hand-outs from the state? Have you seen that a policy of unrestricted trade has led the American worker to being put in a position where they are unable to compete with foreign trade? Have we seen the government being forced to subsidize the working class to make up the differences in prices? Is this resulting in thousands of Americans choosing just to live on the subsides, sacrificing their standard of living for an idle life of ease. Have we seen a massive divide between the “rich” Americans and the poor Americans increasing even further? Of course, this divide is being fueled by those who have a different agenda for America.
Have we seen here in America the idea that life has become “cheap”? Where blood shed has led to more bloodshed and in some cases, extreme cruelty. Have we seen that the values, the ideals, customs, traditions and institutions of America have declined? Have we seen that the basic principles, standards and judgments about what is valuable or important in life have declined? Is there a perverted view of what was right and wrong, good and bad, desirable and undesirable? Have people come to a point that anything goes to get ahead? Whether its stealing ideas from another person to make yourself look good to stealing product plans from a company and selling it to a competitor, it seems that any conformity to acceptable rules or standards of moral human behavior is being lost.
Many people reading this will most likely be thinking, “What about religion?” Well, we all have heard and seen how certain groups, a minority of Americans, have fought to remove all aspects of religion from the public view. And if you have read this closely, you will see that there are a number of points that can be directly linked to the religious beliefs of many religious denominations. So, enough said.
Now, I have presented a number of questions. I know what my answers to the questions are. I’ll let you answer them in your own way, but I do have one final question. Do you feel that any society can survive with the above taking place? I will help you answer it. The answer is NO! How do I know, just look back in history, these are just some of the major causes that led to the fall of the Roman Empire and by looking at the America of today, I feel we are heading down the same path.
As George Santayana said, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
